valentine's day meal deals

It’s the most romantic day of the year so get ready to schmooze your other half by treating them to a delicious meal. Whether you love to dress up and dine out or stay in and get cosy, we’ve selected the 15 best Valentine’s Day meal offers especially for you.

EATING IN

A bottle of plonk and half dead bunch of flowers from the local shop just isn’t going to cut it. Pop into one of the big four supermarkets listed below and surprise your Valentine with a romantic meal for two.

Marks and Spencer

M&S have upgraded their usual weekly Dine In offer to include some extra special treats this Valentine’s. It does almost double in price at this time of year (from £12 to £20) but you do get a box of chocolates and a bottle of fizz as well as the starter, main, side and dessert. We think considering the quality of food a tenner each is not too shabby.

And if a meal deal can’t tempt you, may I recommend a “Love Sausage” this Valentine’s? An adaptation of a roast dinner featuring a seductive (!) heart-shaped sausage, wrapped in streaky bacon and finished with truffle. The retailer has suggestively asked its customers if they are “ready for the Love Sausage”.

Well, are you?

Marks and Spencer Valentine’s Dine In offer available from 12th February to 14th February for £20 and/or the “Love Sausage” for £5.

Tesco

A romantic night in is made easy with the Tesco Finest Valentine’s Menu For Two. Lovebirds can choose a sharing starter, main, side, dessert and a bottle of fizz OR chocolates for £20. Making this deal from Tesco slightly less cost-effective than the M&S version.

Tesco Finest Valentine’s Meal Deal is available now until 14th February for £20.

Waitrose

Stay in and celebrate with Dinner For Two from Waitrose. On offer is a starter, main, two sides, dessert, a bottle of fizz, wine OR chocolates for £20. There is a lot of choice on the Waitrose Valentine’s menu from steak to salmon or vegan Wellington. This supermarket’s offering weighs in at around the same value as Marks and Spencer, considering there are two side dishes instead of one but you’ll still need to decide between bubbly or chocolates. Tough choice!

Waitrose Dinner For Two is available now until 14th February for £20.

Asda

This year your Valentine’s Day (or night) could be made Extra Special with Asda’s Valentine’s Meal Deal. Select a starter, main, two sides, dessert and wine, fizz, lager or soft drink for £15. Making this the cheapest deal so far with a saving of £5!

Zizi

Set your pulses racing with a night out at Zizi. The Valentine’s menu is one of the best we’ve seen in terms of choice and dietary requirements. Choose from Vegan ‘Beetballs’ or calamari to dairy-free seabass or chianti lamb shanks. Polish off with lemon cheesecake or my personal fav: chocolate melt. Yum.

Zizi Valentine’s Set Menu available 14th February until 17th February £19.95 for three courses.

Wetherspoons

The Wetherspoons £20 for two mega deal is back for another year. The meal includes a main, dessert and a drink with one of the main course options being an 8oz steak (that’s usually £10). There are also really good veggie alternatives such as the Mediterranean lasagne served with side salad. As for dessert, why not try the brownie with ice cream? It’s every chocolate lovers’ dream.

That really is a great deal. Expensive pubs never; Spoons forever…

Wetherspoons Valentine’s menu available only on 14th February £20 for two people.

Wherever you choose to eat this Valentine’s Day we hope we’ve helped narrow down some of the best places to eat that won’t burn a hole in your pocket.

Happy Valentine’s!
